Chapter 25 - After saying this, Ji Qingqing slowly tugged up the blanket that was covering Lu Lixing\'s body until it covered.... his face (3)

Zhou Ti asked, "Your health..."

"It\'s very good," Lu Lixing concisely answered. "You can go do your work. I\'m hanging up.”

Lu Lixing ended the call. Sitting at his desk, he turned on his computer.

It was the middle of the night. The hour hand on the clock had just moved to 12.

Half an hour ago, the doctor had made the final check. The doctor probably wouldn\'t come back again until the morning.

He wasn\'t the type to be idle. He had been busy with work for over twenty years, and it had become his routine.

Since his car accident, the company\'s major decisions had been put on hold for the past month. Before his accident, he had negotiated a collaboration for developing drones. But, during his absence, it hadn\'t been possible to finalize the details of this collaboration.

The project was vital to how the company\'s future development would unfold. Major decisions required his written approval. He wouldn\'t be able to relax if he handed this project over to someone else to manage. And so, the first thing that he had desperately wanted to do after waking up was to check on the progress of this project.

His email\'s inbox was cluttered with the accumulated work emails for the past month. Sitting at his desk, Lu Lixing started to open up the emails that couldn\'t be delegated.

His screen was filled with dull and technical words that were difficult to understand for most people. Science and technology was the future of business. Lu Lixing clearly understood that the Lu family\'s company must seize this market in order to avoid becoming obsolete in the future.

For future planning, Lu Lixing had an unusual foresight in that he was able to correctly see trends that would occur further in the future.

The only light on in the villa was his desk lamp. As he read line after line of text, his eyes and mind were focused, and there wasn\'t the slightest sign of impatience on his face.

The minute hand turned a full circle again and again. As the horizon grew brighter and light passed through the gaps in the curtains, the light from the desk lamp seemed dimmer in comparison to the rest of the room that was lit by natural light.

After Lu Lixing finished responding to the last email, he looked at the time. It was half past six.

It was normal for him to work through the night. In the past, he would frequently work until 6 AM, take a two hour nap, and then he would head to the office at 8AM to continue working.

Lu Lixing turned off his computer. He tiredly rubbed the spot between his eyebrows, then he went over to his bed to take a nap.

In contrast to Lu Lixing\'s crazy work schedule, Ji Qingqing had a healthy work life balance. After she promptly woke up at 7 AM, when she passed by Lu Lixing\'s room, she paused. Although her face had flushed red in annoyance after calling him hubby over twenty times last night and she had wanted to bite him to death then, Ji Qingqing still clearly remembered Elder Lu\'s words about caring for Lu Lixing.

Lu Lixing needed to take his medicine at 7 AM.

When she pushed open his door, she saw that his curtains were tightly closed, and the room was dark. Ji Qingqing tiptoed to his bed and saw that the bed was neatly made. Lu Lixing was properly sleeping in his bed.

As soon as she saw Lu Lixing, Ji Qingqing\'s mind played back the scene from last night. It was if there was surround sound speakers that kept playing the word “hubby” over and over.

Ji Qingqing ruthlessly glared at Lu Lixing. She poured a cup of water and brought over a few pills.

"Hey, it\'s time to wake up and take your medicine."

This life-saving medicine wasn\'t cheap, and the time for taking this medicine had to be done on schedule.

Seeing that he wasn\'t waking up, Ji Qingqing continued to call out, "Mr. Lu, wake up. You have to take your medicine."

There was no response.

Translator Ramblings: I hope Ji Qingqing will teach Lu Lixing to not be a workaholic. Even though he\'s mentally exhausted with work, it seems like he can\'t help himself but slip back into the only routine that he knows.
