Reincarnated In A Shitty Love Game

Chapter 48

“Meimei, look this looks good,” Elle plastered her face on the glass display of the dress store and shouted. Her breath left a small amount of precipitation on the glass. She cheerfully wiped it away and presented the dress to her. It was silver A-line piece with a lot of frills near the neckline and the bottom.

“Aren’t you searching for day wear? That seems quite loud,” Feng mumbled softly.

“Feng is right Elle. That looks quiet loud. How about this?” lady Hiliana showed them the small baby pink dress with a minimum amount of frills. It was simple and elegant compared to the flashy silver one.

Feng nodded with a smile. “Elle, this one is good. See, its neckline does not have that much frills, it will be comfortable and less scratchy. And the hem line is also low, you won’t get cold,” she happily explained the pros of this dress.

“Yes...” Elle looked at it with her eyes narrowed. “Grandma, it will look good,”

“I agree,”

.....

“Let’s go in,” they all went in. The twins silently walked with them vigilantly, keeping a glance behind them.

“Boys, come in soon. It’s getting cold,” she gestured from them to get in with the door wide open.

Ethan and Aiden walked in and dashed right over to Feng and stuck to her.

Feng soothingly touched their head. ‘I won’t let those traffickers get a hold of us again,’ she mentally thought to herself.

“Feng come here. The seamstress is ready,” the old lady pulled her over to a middle age woman who held a measuring tape over her shoulders.

“Oh, your daughter looks dashing. I bet she will look the best in that dress you chose.” the seamstress made some idle chatter with the old lady while talking her measurements.

‘Ah, why are they taking my measurement?’ she confusedly glanced at Elle, who was sitting down on the sofa with Ethan and Aiden.

Felling the confused look, Elle ran up to her and whispered in her ear. “We are here to choose a dress for you, Meimei. Don’t be shocked.”

The seamstress finally measured her hem and laughed. “Just wonderful. The dress you chose will fit her perfectly. I won’t even have to alter it to her size.” She happily smiled at the assistant to pack it up.

Old lady Hiliana had a satisfied smirk on her face. “How much is it?”

“That would be 12 quid.”

The lady unhesitatingly handed the money over to her and asked the assistant to send it over to their ship as soon as they can.

The dress alone costs more than 12 quid, which she learned to be more than a month’s earning of a middle class family.

This game world’s monetary system was mainly based upon Europeans’ fashion plus mystical and magical atmosphere. The currency on the other hand is called quid. One quid is the minimum wage a servant gets per month.

“This is....too much.” Feng mumbled softly.

Lad Hiliana gently held her hand and gave her a reassuring smile. “I have to do my best for my new daughter won’t I?”

“But I didn’t agree....” she awkwardly whispered, clenching her frilly skirt.

“Even if you didn’t, you still need new clothes, right? You are growing taller by the day Elle’s clothes are starting to look quiet short on you. And.... I really enjoy buying clothes.” she laughed cheerfully and led the thorough the bustling market. “Next, what’s on the list?”

“Shoes!!!” Elle shouted from behind.

“Shoes it is, I saw a good shop last summer around this corner.” the lady slowly led them to the interior of the market where there was a small ornate shop with few delicate looking shoes and slippers on display.

“Wow, so pretty,” Elle’s eyes sparkled. “Let’s go, let’s go.” she dragged Feng and her grandmother in, leaving the boys outside.

Alvin made sure to hold their hands, but the twins did not wish to. So he awkwardly stood in the centre of them.

They all bustled past many stores buying as they wanted to. By the end of the third store Feng started to fear shopping a bit. As a modern woman, she never went shopping rather, her assistant brought all the clothes for her so she did not experience the numerous try-on’s and adjusting sessions on her life.

Talking a deep breath, she glanced at the kind old lady with a sigh. “I don’t want anything more,”

She glanced back with her brows raised. “We have yet to find you a beautiful ball gown. What if there is a party, we might not be able to get a new one altered soon?,”

“I have more clothes. Please can we not get any,” she clung to her hand and looked at her eyes innocently.

The old lady chuckled and nodded. “Looks like you are tired of trying on clothes.”

“And shoes,” she mumbled softly.

“Then we should start searching clothes for the boys,” the lady energetically walked over to a men’s apparel store. She pulled Ethan and Aiden up front. “Stitch me the finish suits of them.”

Bothe the boys stood silently, but as the seamstress went to take their measurement, Aiden slightly froze her hand and Ethan send out a huge gust of wind.

“Oh My I’m so sorry,” lady Hiliana apologised to her earnestly. “My boys are quiet shy. They don’t like being touched. Is it possible to measure them without actually... measuring them,” she awkwardly whispered.

“I’m not that adept at measuring with my eyes, kind lady. How about this, we can ask the boys to measure themselves?” The seamstress glanced at them.

Ethan glanced at Aiden with a frown. “I would prefer if Feng took my measurement.”

“Yes, no thank you. Why do I want to touch you?”

“You held my hand just a minute ago,” Ethan smugly whispered.

“No, you held my hand. I was just being an emotionally support,”

Hearing their banter, the whole shop was filled with laughter.

“Feng, come soon. These troublemakers are waiting for you.” the old lady gestured for her.

Feng walked close and took the measuring tape. She had been watching how the seamstress was measuring the other men in the shop, so she knew at least where and all to measure. “Ethan, shall we start with you. Tell me if you are uncomfortable okay,”

Ethan nodded. Her green eyes lit up as he glanced down at her from the pedestal.

“Lift your arms for her, dear,” lady Hiliana urged him.

He did, with a shy smile. “I’m.... ticklish...” he whispered so only Feng can hear.

“I know,” Feng whispered back, with a wide smirk on her face.

Soon their shopping almost came to an end, but they did not know that trouble was lurking right around the corner.
